GXMAG: Obstacles seem inevitable, how can we overcome them?
Joyce Rodgers:Obstacles will come and are a part of life. I was reading an article today that stated “humility before honor”. I believe that obstacles are there to cultivate a level of humility within us. Humility brings about dependence on the Lord Jesus Christ and not upon ourselves. We have fears, gifts, knowledge and intellect but is only the power of the Holy Spirit that lets us do supernatural things. There are times when God will send things to align us with the honor He is about to perform through us. So obstacles come as a stepping stone, a guide, a hump in the rode to keep us focused and driven on our purpose by the power of the Holy Spirit. Isaiah says that no weapon form will prosper. The reason it won’t prosper is because God created the weapons He states he did not put anything in the weapons that would destroy you. So obstacles come to give us definitions. And there is no obstacle that God does not know its purpose. If it is pain, he will send the purpose for the pain to get the power and glory out of us. We learn through a level of maturity to embrace obstacles.
