GOSPEL XPRESS MAGAZINE is an extraordinary and dynamic place to work. As a member of the GX Magazine sales team you would be responsible for marketing our products and services ranging from Print Advertising, Web Advertising, Video, TV and more. We pay either base + commission or commission only and reward performance.

Qualifications: We are looking for a self-motivated, energetic and experienced advertising sales representative. This person will be responsible for overseeing the marketing and selling of the entire online ad inventory available on the GXMAG Site. This will include pursuing new clients, expanding relationships with existing clients by offering advertising inventory on the GXMAG Site, e-newsletter and other online revenue generating opportunities. Successful candidates must have great understanding of the market we serve, strong communication skills (both written and verbal), experience in online advertising sales and developing advertising models. This person must have a track record that demonstrates an ability to close deals. This position will require cold calling and handling of inbound calls. A B.S. or B.A in business, communication and/or marketing is preferred.

Sales representatives have three main tasks: looking for new customers, making sales and following up to make sure that customers are satisfied and ready to buy again. They spend most of their time working with people--making phone calls, visiting customers and touring factories and work sites to learn about the products they sell and their customers' needs. Sales representatives need to be extremely sociable, enthusiastic, quick-witted, able to spot problems and improvise solutions and have the confidence to overcome the rejection that is a constant and inevitable part of the job. Perhaps more than anything else, a good sales rep has to be a good listener and this means not only hearing what the customer has to say but also being able to interpret facial expression and body language. The aim of a good sales rep is not just to get people to buy something the most successful reps can guide customers to products that will genuinely satisfy their needs. This is the surest way to make the customer come back to buy again. Being a sales rep is a highly competitive job requiring considerable people skills, but for those who have the right personality, this is often as fun and trouble-free as a career can be. In addition to the excitement and challenge of rising above the competition and making the sale, many representatives get a great sense of accomplishment from helping their customers make the best purchases possible.
